Not long ago TAGUTI has organized a technical exchange with mould factory. Mr. Zhang, as general manager of TAGUTI, has shown our sales executives the machining process of sinker edm machining, small hole drilling edm and so on.

Firstly small hole drilling edm has appeared into our eyes. Small hole drilling edm belongs to Electro Spark Erosion, can be also called Electro Discharge Machining, which following the same working principle as sinker edm machining, wire cut edm machining. The only difference is the electrode. Small hole drilling edm uses hollow brass stick to complete pulsed spark discharges. Usually is used for drilling extra hard steel, cemented carbide, copper, aluminum etc.
Then we have visited sinker edm machining and wire cut electrical discharge machining workshop. Sinker edm machining and wire cut electrical discharge machining are composed of three systems: Mechanical System, Electrical System and Working Liquid Cycle System.
Mechanical System is the base of sinker edm machining and wire cut electrical discharge machining. It directly causes processing precision and bringing electrical performance into full play. And Mechanical System consists of lathe bed, coordinate setting table, wire transfering organization, wire holder organization, taper organization and lubricating organization. Lathe bed is like a box-type, gives each part the install platform. To complete cutting mainly depends on relative movement of wire electrode. The most important two parts of wire transfering organization are electromotor and wire collecting box. Thanks to this unit, wire electrode can move in a constant speed. Lubricating organization is used to prevent mechanical wear and increase mechanical efficiency.
Electrical System, in other word, a provider of electirc energy. It mainly control the wire transfering electrical machine and the working liquid pump, so that workpiece can be cut continuously. A control system has included in this part, is used to control the movement of processing table(trace control) and electro-discharge of pulsed power supply(process control).
*Working Liquid Cycle System
Working Liquid Cycle System is composed of working liquid box, pump, liquid inlet&return tube, flow control valve and cnc wire cutting edm machine filters. This step plays a major role in concentrating discharge energy and taking away discharge heat, so that wire electrode and workpiece can be cooled, and electric corroding outcome can be removed.
