Wire Analysis and Control for Precision EDM Cutting, Sodick high precision wire EDM filters manufacturer
This paper deals with wire EDM machining accuracy, in particular, how the cutting precision and accuracy can be improved by suitable detection techniques and control algorithms. In a first paragraph, it is shown that the wire vibration problem can be described by mathematical models. The main part of the paper is focused on the analysis of the wire vibration phenomenon. Results obtained by a properly designed and developed measurement and acquisition system are presented and discussed. It reveals that wire EDM unprecision is influenced by Physico-Mechanical interactions during EDM machining.
